At the bottom of the world in Antarctica batteries go dead in the cold....really fast. I have a solution to this for our Ipods and other electronic toys that use batteries. We use rechargable batteries to protect the environment and they have the added plus that they and the charger also take up less space and especially weight in our backpacks. Here's what I knit for hubby's Ipod with opening in bottom for plug ins and opening in top in which to insert his Ipod and an I-cord tie to cinch it closed and keep it warm. I also knit a similar contraption for his Grundig shortwave radio.
